Onboarding a new Donor
To onboard a new donor, the user keys in the details prompted on the screen, from ‘Select Title’ through to the donors contact details.
The Email address and confirmation of this will allow the charity to engage with the donor through email, where consent has been given when donating to the charity, Gift Aid correspondence and marketing activities.
The donor’s address can be located using the postcode lookup, by keying in the donors postcode (no spaces) and pressing the ‘LOOKUP’ button.
A list of addresses found will be returned and can be displayed. Select the correct address chosen by pressing the ‘Please select address’ button now displayed below the postcode lookup entry field.
Once the correct address has been found, ticking the address on the list will automatically populate the address fields below.
Addresses can be keyed manually but the use of the postcode lookup feature will ensure the address information is accurate.
The details of the Agency agreement and Donor declaration are available for the donor to review, before agreeing and signing up for Gift Aid by ticking the box.
Current health and safety guidance may require the instore team to manage the input activity, but there is the ability to allow the supporter to key the details directly into the tablet, when guidance changes, and a dedicated tablet could be placed in a kiosk stand for busier sites.
The last step is to agree any Marketing preferences with the donor, again confirmation of acceptance by ticking the required boxes.
